The Maha Sarakham Livestock Development Office has declared a rabies control zone in a tambon [local government unit; township/subdistrict] in the northeastern province after a cow died from rabies. On 28 Feb 2025, the office issued an announcement designating Tambon Na Kha in Wapi Pathum district as an area where rabies had been detected. Animal owners, including those with dogs, cats, and livestock, are prohibited from moving their animals out of the zone without official permission.

マハ・サラカム畜産開発局は、牛が狂犬病で死亡したことを受け、東北地方のタンボン（地方自治体単位；町／小区域）に狂犬病管理区域を宣言した。2025年2月28日、同事務所は、狂犬病が検出された地域として、ワピ・パトゥム郡タンボン・ナ・カーを指定する発表を行った。犬、猫、家畜を含む動物の所有者は、正式な許可なく動物を区域外に移動させることが禁止されている。

The control zone will be in effect from 28 Feb to 29 Mar 2025. According to the office, the declaration followed a positive rabies test on a deceased cow in Moo 10 village. The cow's owner had alerted the Wapi Pathum livestock office after noticing symptoms consistent with rabies. District officials collected a sample for laboratory testing, which confirmed the presence of the rabies virus. The Maha Sarakham Livestock Office stated that the cow may have been bitten by　a rabid stray dog.

管理区域は2025年の2月28日から3月29日まで設定されている。同事務所によると、今回の宣言はムー10村で死亡した牛の狂犬病検査で陽性反応が出たことを受けてのものである。この牛の飼い主は、狂犬病と一致する症状に気づいたため、ワピ・パトゥム家畜事務所に通報した。地区職員が検査室での検査のためにサンプルを採取したところ、そこに狂犬病ウイルスの存在が確認された。マハ・サラカム畜産事務所は、この牛は狂犬病の野良犬に咬まれた可能性があると述べた。

Following the declaration of the rabies control zone, officials were dispatched to vaccinate cats and dogs in all villages within the tambon. Additionally, 4 cows that had been raised alongside the infected one were vaccinated and are being closely monitored.

狂犬病管理区域の宣言を受けて、タンボン内のすべての村の猫と犬へのワクチン接種のために職員が派遣された。さらに、感染した牛と一緒に飼育されていた4頭の牛にもワクチンを接種し、注意深く観察されている。
